Arbor Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust that invests in a diversified portfolio of multifamily and commercial real estate-related loans and other real estate-related assets has a career opportunity at its Boston, MA office for a Business Analyst


This critical function will help support and drive continuous process, automation and improvement initiatives within the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Agency Lending processing and front-end production side of Arbor to support the overall strategic direction of the company. This role will be charged with understanding all nuances of the loan origination, screening, processing and underwriting processes, as well as the systems and tools used, to be able to properly access, identify, enforce and recommend effective automated changes and refinements to support maximum efficiencies for all stakeholders.


This role will report to the front end production side of the business, yet will collaborate and be dotted line to the strategic marketing group. This role will work closely with the marketing database and systems’ teams, with management at all levels, and will work cross functionally to determine, define and present success metrics to senior and executive management. 


  • Collaborate and participate as a key stakeholder with the front-end production system planning and development to parallel firm’s automation objectives
  • Work parallel to the front-end processing teams to gain intensive system and process knowledge to best support short and long-term system and process planning
  • Support system integration and data integrity initiatives to ensure critical and ongoing information delivery
  • Assist in identifying datamining opportunities for new business development
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives working in tandem with the front end loan processing teams and database and client systems teams
  • Establish and refine goals and success metrics that align to company’s vision and strategic initiatives
  • Support consistent process implementation, communication, training and adherence to maximize efficiencies
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their unique analytic requirements and assist in the development of metrics, reports and dashboards
  • Monitor, track, and report on progress against success metrics
  • Proactively identify process issues and opportunities to improve current processes
  • Identify data input and collection issues with a commitment to improving the quality and flow for data warehouse


Education:   Bachelor’s degree in Business of Business Systems or similar field


Experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12+ years of business operations and systems experience, with proven ability to project manage and lead in behavior change management. The candidate must demonstrate a detail-oriented approach to process refinement with a strong focus on automation and ROI. Commercial real estate underwriting a plus.



  • Proven ability to access and map business needs with accompanying metrics that yield business recommendations supported by data
  • Superb analytic skills with experience analyzing large data sets
  • The ability to draw conclusions and recommendations based on data analysis given a business environment
  • Ability to influence management and drive operational improvements through the use of data and analytics
  • Demonstrable mastery of Microsoft Excel, Visio and/or other flowchart tools
  • Significant experience with data analysis tools and technology such as Salesforce, SQL, Tableau and reporting applications.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation communications abilities; attention to detail; customer service skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, dynamic environment
  • Strong multitasking and priority-setting capabilities
