The Assistant Controller will assist the controller in the direction of the accounting/financing functions of the organization. Duties include assessing clients’ assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status and financial objectives.


The Assistant Controller will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Review financial data periodically to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
    • Preparation of financial reporting, assisting in ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements.
    • Assist with reporting and analysis of investment portfolios.
  • Cash Management:
    • Overseeing staff in daily operations including the daily cash summary, cash projections, and accuracy of wire requests.
    • Conducting account reconciliations and analysis.
    • Assist with cash management when requested.
  • Tax Reporting
    • Assist with the preparation of quarterly tax projections and estimates.
    • Assist with the compilation of annual tax package for outside Accounting Firm.
  • Quarterly Investment Reporting and Analysis
  • Assist with coordinating third party lending. (Mortgages/Line of Credit)
  • Assisting in developing system controls for ensuring data integrity.
  • Assist in implementation and upgrading of the accounting/reporting system.


Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related discipline.


Experience:  6-8 years’ work experience in a wealth management/finance related role. Public Accounting or Tax Experience a plus.  Exposure to wealth management, investment experience or tax required.



  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Quicken, QuickBooks and accounting packages are desirable.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting, financial and business analytics.
  • Practical training or experience in an Audit or CPA firm is beneficial.
  • Ability to adapt to frequently changing requirements
  • Ability to communicate clear and in a direct manner
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Ability to "think out of the box" and have good problem solving skills
  • Extremely Organized
