Overview

Arbor Management Acquisitions Company (AMAC) currently has an opening at its Manhattan office for an Architect with familiarity in construction management for its NYC portfolio. This position will be responsible for all architectural work and will transition into additional responsibilities with oversight in construction management, acquisitions and underwriting. Looking for candidates with Architectural experience in NYC and additional experience and interest in business operations and construction.

 

AMAC is a full service commercial real estate investment and operating firm based in New York and founded in 2012. Since inception, the company has successfully acquired more than 7,000 multifamily units nationwide, including more than 20 walk-up and elevator multifamily properties in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

 

The company has pursued investments in stabilized properties, distressed portfolios, value-add strategies, and ground-up developments. Currently, AMAC has in excess of $100M of capital to invest and expects the portfolio to continue to grow

Responsibilities

The Architect will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

 

  • Work collaboratively with AMAC’s acquisition and asset management team through all stages of a project —underwriting, due diligence, schematic design and the renovation/construction
  • Consistently visit properties within AMAC’s portfolio and potential new acquisitions
  • Prepare and design floor plans, drawings, images and other documents for residential and commercial properties
  • Assist in the planning, design, and coordination of construction projects
  • Work hand in hand in hand with 3rd party architects to obtain the necessary building permits for each project
  • Assist in obtaining 3rd party bids and proposals for the various projects
  • Help oversee the general contractors renovating properties in AMAC’s portfolio
  • Prepare and submit project estimates and cost tracking reports

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in architecture and/or construction management

 

Experience: 2 to 10 years of relevant experience, specifically in the NYC market

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of computer aided design (CAD)
  • Detailed understanding of NYC DOB requirements, regulations and laws

  • Detailed, organized, and good communicator
