  • Overview

    The Director, IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of servers, network infrastructure, and related systems, including cloud computing systems. This position troubleshoots software and hardware failures, identifies network problems as they relate to end-user computers, and plans for and recommends upgrades to existing infrastructure. This position works on complex assignments independently, requiring judgment in resolving issues and in making recommendations to management.


    The Director, IT Infrastructure Engineer will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:


    • Recommend upgrades to corporate IT infrastructure, including network equipment and servers
    • Works independently on infrastructure upgrade projects
    • Works with vendors on planning infrastructure equipment purchases
    • Plans and budgets for upcoming IT projects as directed by management
    • Integrates new approved equipment and services into the environment
    • Performs periodic review of system and security logs to ensure compliance
    • Assist HelpDesk staff and Technical Analysts with advanced projects and/or complex problems


    Education:   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field preferred, but not required.


    Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience.



    • Strong network and server experience a MUST. Microsoft, Cisco, and HP preferred.
    • Strong experience with either Hyper-V or VMware virtualization stacks a MUST.
    • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365 a MUST, including Exchange migrations and utilization of cloud resources for disaster recovery and business continuity.
    • Experience with telephone networks, specifically VoIP and SIP in a Cisco-based environment.
    • Experience with network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, HIPS, ETDR).
    • Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking.
    • Deep understanding of file permissions and access control lists.
    • Familiarity with wireless products and technologies.
    • High comfort level with cloud computing workloads.
    • Ability to work independently with a drive for positive results.
    • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment with tight time constraints and frequent changes.


    Travel: Minimal, less than 5%
