    The Senior Insurance Associate is responsible for assisting the VP, Insurance Compliance in the analysis of insurance information received from borrowers to proactively identify insurance deficiencies. 

    Responsibilities

    The Senior Insurance Associate will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

    • Review and approve multi-million dollar loans to ensure Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac insurance requirements are being evidenced properly
    • Departmental quality control measure to help team more efficiently
    • Train new hires on policies and procedures within the department
    • Lead presentations to assist the department in processing insurance compliance efficiently
    • Receive and collect insurance information from Underwriters, Insurance Agents & Originators
    • Request additional coverage if required by the lender to safeguard the property in the event of loss
    • Analyze flood certificates from FEMA to determine if the appropriate coverage is required prior to loan closure
    • Ensure complete and accurate insurance information is sent to appropriate departments within the company
    • Communicate and follow-up with insurance agents and Underwriting Analysts for additional information when needed
    • Coordinate with servicing department to rectify any insurance deficiencies on closed loans
    • Remain in contact with both clients and insurance carriers
    • Insurance file maintenance 

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; Insurance Broker’s License is preferred but not required.

     

    Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the insurance industry, specifically property coverage knowledge

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

     

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
    • Hard working, a quick learner, detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment
