    Arbor, a real estate investment trust that invests in a diversified portfolio of multifamily and commercial real estate-related loans and other real estate-related assets has a career opportunity within our Depew, NY office for an Insurance Associate. The Insurance Associate is responsible for ensuring that adequate insurance coverage exists, is documented appropriately and paid for all loans that are assigned to their respective department. 

    Responsibilities

    The Insurance Associate will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

    • Interact with internal and external customers as required to procure certificates of insurance
    • Evaluate Insurance Certificate against system record and initial review check list
    • Follow-up on insurance exception items within specified time frames
    • Disburse escrow funds for timely payment of insurance premium
    • Monitor insurance escrow funds for shortages including contacting borrowers to secure funds
    • Timely and accurate boarding of new loans into the servicing system as it pertains to insurance escrow items
    • Maintain integrity of system data as it pertains to insurance updates
    • Provide support to resolve insurance related borrower inquiries
    • Review, route, and process all items received via mail, email and telephone
    • Identify and communicate insurance related issues and trends
    • Accurately research and process refunded, returned, and/or stale dated checks

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s degree

     

    Experience: Minimum of one to three years of experience in Mortgage Servicing, Commercial Lines Insurance or Escrow.

     

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Basic Microsoft Office skills
    • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
